This is an open event, so bring your favorite card or board game, and your appetite!
Come join Deb F. and the C&C crew as we pay a visit to the Middlesex Lounge in Cambridge. Here's what Deb says about the event:
Learn a new game in a new location! Middlesex Lounge has great food and drinks, and is quiet until about 9 or 10 pm. We'll be teaching 3-13, a game that builds on the skills you've learned in poker, gin and rummy. It's easy to learn even if you've never played any card games. It is also called Nickels, and it's similar to Phase 10 and Five Crowns. Feel free to bring other games too.
HOW TO GET THERE
By Subway: Take the Red Line to Central Square. Head southwest on Massachusetts Avenue. It's about a 5 minute walk from the station.
By Car: We've always found parking at nearby meters, which are free after 6.
Got there about 10 minutes late, Flaherty for Senate fundraiser going on - no one knew about the meet up that I spoke to there. Sorry to have missed it. I hope to attend another time.
Middlesex Lounge forgot about us. We stayed there until 7, then hung up a sign and went to the Asgard. To those who missed the event, my apologies--I am quite disappointed in Middlesex. I hope to see you next time. To the baker's dozen who joined us at Asgard--thanks for your patience, it was fun playing games with you.
Thank you Debbie for handling this complete screw-up by the business. Like you I am disappointed at the conduct of Middlesex Lounge, and will make sure that the other Meetup groups are warned about this behavior.
I apologize to all of those who ventured out and were not able to find us at the Asgard. In the future, we'll take better caution with our meetup locations. We hope to see you at a future event!
